No more possibilities for little Valentinos...

I awoke yesterday afternoon groggy and in a strange place only to discover that Kristen had me neutered! No chance of procreating and passing along my ridiclously good looks. The only brightside to the whole ordeal was the pain meds and this cute little bandage they gave me; don't I look tough!

Hey there Frugalististas!
Target has an early Christmas present for all you: Rodarte is designing a line especially for Target. Lots, of black, lots of lace and my personal fav: a sequined skeleton dress. Fabulous!

What The Doctors Call a Little Bit of a "Weight Problem"

We pugs are curvaceous, full-figured creatures. Sadly not everyone appreciates our voluptuousness; my vet wants me to lose weight. I'm starting to develop a bit of a complex; Kristen seems to be rationing my food intake and it seems like people on the street are constantly staring out me. I suspect my weight is the reason Kristen took me to a dog park for the first time this weekend. I found the entire experience very overwhelming;
so I mostly stayed between Kristen's legs.
Later I ventured out to the other dog owners to watch the dogs
from the safe confines of their legs.

When I got up the courage to meet the other dogs they chased me around in tight little circles and I decided to it would be best to find Kristen quickly.

After my grueling experience I decided on a nice long soak in the tub to destress.

What a day!

Portland Fashion Week Is On!

Hey my fellow fashionistas!
Check at Portland's Fashion Week (http://www.portlandfashionweek.net/) The designers may not be as famous as those in Paris, New York, and Milan, but trust me, the designs are just as fierce!

Kisses!

These are few of my favorite things

Hiding under deep dark leather couches,Hip bags, hip belts, and other hip pouches. Barking at leaves in crisp autumn evenings; These are a few of my favorite things.

Eating fallen food, vegetables or noodles;
Fellow canines, short-hairs or poodles;
Chew Toys and pajama pants drawstrings;
These are a few of my favorite things.

Girls in red dresses with blue eyes and long lashes;
Knocking over furniture and the proceeding crashes;
Nipping at ears with dangly earrings;
These are a few of my favorite things.

OMGG!

Tonight’s the season premiere of TV’s greatest guilty pleasure: Gossip Girl. Don’t dismiss this as just your run of the mill tween drama; this is a show not to be missed! Yes, the characters are young, but the show magically transports the audience from our current recession-focused reality to the highest echelons of the beautifully young and beautifully rich of New York’s elite. Delicious!
Gossip Girl is full of drama and backstabbing that you couldn’t possibly dream up in your best revenge fantasy, so sit back and enjoy the delightfully wicked storylines. In addition to the glimpse into the world of the filthy rich, Gossip Girl not only has a pulse on current trends, the show actually starts many of the fads that trickle down to the masses. So tune in tonight at 9pm to get the first look at what we’ll all be wearing (or wishing we could wear) very soon!

A Guilt-free trip to Gilt!

Kristen and I live in Portland’s vibrant NW 23rd district, an area known for its great restaurants, unique boutiques, fun bar scene, and its quaint neighborhood charm. If you haven’t been, it’s definitely worthy of a stop the next time you are in town. This weekend Kristen and her mom were having a girls’ weekend and on their agenda was a gift for a dear godmother. They wanted something as special and unique as this godmother. Kristen suggested they look at a wonderful little vintage jewelry store call Gilt. http://giltjewelry.com/ This small boutique has a wide assortment of one-of-a-kind bubbles, everything from exquisite engagement rings to inexpensive (yet positively charming) costume jewelry. This a great little shop to find a truly unique piece that only you will have! Fabulous!

Fun Fall Dress

Now, normally I'm not one for kitsch, but I thought this "Cavorting Canines" Dress by Anthropologie was simply too fabulous not to share. I'm hoping I can talk my person, Kristen, into buying it. We would look just fantastic walking around Portland with her in this dress and me on my red patent leather collar and leash!

Fall Fashion Forecasting with Valentino

If you haven’t already, pick up the Fall issues of Vogue and Elle. These extended concept issues are a great way to stay ahead of the coming trends for fall. Kristen and I have been pouring over them the past few days looking for new ideas and trends. Although most of our budgets’ cannot accommodate the Roche over the knee boots, we can glean a lot of great inspirations from these publications and make some minor tweaks to your existing wardrobe. My two biggest recommendations for taking your summer closet into fall are the two b’s: boots and belts.

Every woman should have a variety of boots. Really there’s no limit to the number, but try to aim for something in black and brown. This way you can work with everything. Normally I recommend investing a little more in a quality boot. A well made boot can always be reheeled and last years and years. This season though, Target has a lovely little brown, wedge heel number that is stylish, well-constructed, comfortable, and affordable. For less than $40 this boot is a steal; pick a pair up immediately!

Another trend Kristen’s trying out for fall is the wide belt over a long sweater and perhaps a dress. This is a great way to extend the life of your summer frocks a few months. A floral, bohemian dress looks great under the warm layer of the long sweater and wide belt.

Summer, Kinda Wonderful

Kristen took me to her family reunion! It's was fabulous; tons of people and a huge lawn. Her little cousins played with me all day long.

Everyone wanted a turn walking me on my leash...
Later in the afternoon I played a little croquet...
What a great day to be a puppy!

In Her Shoes

My name is Valentino and I have a foot fetish. I can't help it; I just love feet. Well shoes, mostly. I love chewing and licking toes and shoes and even socks. Kristen doesn't seem to appreciate my love. She's always shaking a loud soda can fill of pennies out me to get me to stop my chewing. But come on, just look at this delicious shoe. Could you resist???

Won't you come out and play??

Last night Kristen took me to meet my first dog since leaving my litter and to meet her friends. Zek is a Boston Terrier and quite a bit bigger than me. But I don't consider myself as a small guy so I had no problem chasing him around the living room. Zek didn't quite now what to make of me; I think he was actually a little scared of me! Imagine that! Scared of me! I also met a sweet little boy named Isaiah. He thought I was pretty cute and gave me this new toy. Thanks, Isaiah!

Scared Straight

Last night I got a little too rambunctious and knocked over my baby gate. Man was that scary! It didn't hit me, but it really freaked me out. I wouldn't let Kristen put me down for over an hour and I was pretty sure the lamp and pictures might be the next to fall. Luckily they didn't. So I guess I just need to be more careful in the future....

Greetings World!

Greetings World! Valentino here.

It's been a busy, interesting week. My new person, Kristen, brought me to her apartment this Saturday. (We met before when she chose my out of all the litter! She said I was just so handsome!) Kristen's apartment is very interesting: there are many exciting nooks and crannies to explore and get stuck in. Luckily Kristen is there to help me if I can't find my way out.

I've heard many other dogs in our apartment building. I haven't seen any, but they sound a lot bigger than me. Once I'm big enough Kristen says I can meet them and go outside to something called a dog park.

At night she has me sleeping in something called a crate. I don't mind it so long as she puts the crate in her bedroom. The first night the crate was all the way in the living room; it was really scary being in the room by myself in that big, dark room. I like knowing that she's close by.

She also feeds my delicious treats when I do something she wants, like walk on a thing called a leash. It still seems a little strange, but I'll do almost anything for a peanut butter doggie treat.
